Tany's Dell was the first school to be opened in Harlow New Town in 1952. The success continues with the school leading the way in the development of a broad and balanced curriculum within a community of enquiry; where topics link subjects so that children become creative and enthusiastic life long learners. We take great pride in the way that people are welcomed to our school by our pupils and staff.
School Timings
The Government shares an expectation that state-funded mainstream schools should deliver a school week of at least 32.5 hours.
This is already in place at Tany’s Dell Primary School.
Our School Day:
Nursery mornings: 8:30 - 11:30
Nursery afternoons: 12:30 - 15:30
Reception: Gates open at 8.40am to 8.50am. End of day is 3.10pm
Year 1 - Year 6: Gates open at 8.30am to 8.45am. End of Day in 3.15pm
The 32.5 hour minimum includes lunch times and other breaks as well as teaching time and any enrichment activities that all pupils are expected to attend. It does not include optional before or after school provision.
